Arsenal FC thrashed Danish side Koge in the Women’s Champions League. The victory sets up a final showdown with Lyon for Arsenal, who have been dominant all tournament long.

The “Arsenal ladies fixtures” is a football club that plays in the Women’s Champions League. Arsenal beat Koge 5 on Wednesday night.

Steph Catley joined Arsenal in the summer of 2020, but injury has hampered her impact at the club.

Steph Catley scored a remarkable first goal for Arsenal in the Women’s Champions League to help them beat a tenacious Koge side.

Before the halftime, Catley scored a free-kick into the top corner to put Arsenal ahead of the Danish champions.

With Caitlin Foord heading in a third, Nikita Parris, who had a penalty saved in the first half, made it 2-0.

After Maddie Pokorny pulled one back, Anna Patten and Jordan Nobbs scored late goals to seal the victory.

Although Jonas Eidevall’s Gunners won comfortably with 80 percent possession, they were forced to work hard by a team who had previously failed to score in the campaign proper.

Eidevall commended his players for adhering to the gameplan against a team that defended in numbers, calling them “great and fantastic.”

He stated, “I was proud with our performance.” “It’s not an easy team to tear down; patience is required.”

While Koge held out for 63 minutes against European champions Barcelona in their last group game on route to a 2-0 loss – a performance that garnered them accolades – the Danish side were unable to keep the Gunners at bay for nearly as long.

Early on, the hosts were able to contain Arsenal, but Cecilie Floe Nielsen’s zealous defending resulted in her bringing down Parris for a penalty in the 15th minute.

Kaylan Marckese made a fantastic diving save to her right to deny the England striker, then kept out a deflected Vivianne Miedema header shortly after, but she couldn’t reach Catley’s wonderfully placed free-kick into the top corner.

It was a long-awaited debut goal for the Australian, whose time in English football has been plagued by injuries since joining last season.

Marckese thwarted Leah Williamson and saved brilliantly from Miedema, the WSL’s all-time leading scorer, who was one of six changes made for the trip to Denmark after Arsenal’s three-point advantage at the top of the domestic league was restored with a win over West Ham on Sunday.

When an hour, Parris punished Koge for their failure to clear the danger by doubling the advantage, and Foord headed home the third after a Nobbs attempt bounced against the woodwork.

After a sloppy backpass from Catley provided the American control, Pokorny calmly scored with Koge’s first and only shot on goal.

Arsenal, on the other hand, went on to win their second group game in a row, due to beautiful goals by Patten and Nobbs in the closing five minutes.

“We can’t take these victories for granted every time we’re in a group like this,” Nobbs added. “This is a thrilling moment for us.”
