Barcelona are reportedly interested in signing the Swedish sensation, Ousmane Dembele. The winger is currently on loan at Dortmund but has been linked with a move to Spain after being heavily linked with Manchester United.

Williot Swedberg, a Swedish superstar, has said that he “wouldn’t say no” to Barcelona, amid reports that the Catalan giants are interested in signing the 17-year-old from Hammarby IF.

Barcelona is said to be keeping a close eye on the youngster and have filed for tickets to watch him play against IFK Gothenburg. Swedberg was unable to play due to sickness, but according to Fotboll Sthlm, Barca are anticipated to return.

In an interview with Expressen, Swedberg revealed that Barca would be seeing him play and confessed that he would find it difficult to turn down a transfer to the Camp Nou, despite the fact that he does not believe he is yet ready.

“No, they weren’t there because I was ill. It was exciting to hear of their enthusiasm; after all, Barca isn’t just any club. But Hammarby is the main focus,” he said. “Even if Valencia is my favorite club in Spain, I would not say no to Barcelona. But I’m not quite there yet.”

Swedberg is already popular.

Hammarby’s sports director, Jesper Jansson, also cautioned Barcelona that the club had no plans to trade their top player. “It is plain sense that major clubs follow him,” he said. It generates interest if you make such attempts at that age, but we have no intentions to sell.”

Swedberg joined Hammarby in July and has immediately made an impression in the center of the midfield. The kid has also been selected for Sweden’s Under-19 team.

The promising kid has been linked with a number of clubs, including Barcelona. Swedberg is also wanted by Eredivisie winners Ajax and rivals PSV Eindhoven, according to Voetbal Primeur.

Swedberg recently signed a contract extension with his club that runs through “mid-2024,” according to the source. However, it’s believed that if an acceptable offer comes in during the January transfer window, Hammarby may be inclined to sell.

Barcelona’s Young Midfielders Are Performing Well

Swedberg’s interest in Barcelona comes at a time when the club’s youth midfielders are doing well in the first squad. Nico Gonzalez and Gavi, both teenagers, began Barcelona’s 3-0 victory against Levante and received high acclaim from reporters.

Gavi is the headliner, but Nico has really come into his own after a difficult start. So far, the second half has been excellent.

Riqui Puig, a fellow La Masia product, came off the bench in the game and will be looking for more playing time this season. Coach Ronald Koeman’s starting XI also includes 18-year-old Pedri and 24-year-old Frenkie de Jong.

As the Catalan giants seek to rebuild their team, the midfielder is one of a slew of teenagers who are presently playing regular games at the Camp Nou. Former Barca B coach Garcia Pimienta was impressed by the number of La Masia graduates that played against Levante.

Due to the club’s financial difficulties, it has been unable to make high-profile acquisitions and will have to depend on its academy’s young players. Catalans have been eager to invest in young talent as well.

Yusuf Demir, a teenager who joined from Rapid Vienna in the summer, has already established himself in the first squad, while Barca have also announced that 17-year-old Emire Demir will join at the conclusion of the season.
